October Book Club Pick
The month I wanted to take a look at another pillar of lifestyle medicine: sleep. Sleep or rather the lack of it is a common reason to contact your GP. A lack of restorative sleep can have wide reaching impacts on our wellbeing.
To better understand sleep a friend and colleague recommended the book “Why We Sleep” by Matthew Walker. Published in 2017, the book was hailed the first of its kind to explain the purpose of sleep and why in the 21st century our neglect of sleep matters.
Using this book as a basis, I hope to explore the roots behind insomnia and perhaps more importantly what to do when we fall victim to it. I hope you’ll follow along with this interesting and inspiring read.
